DescriptionThe Campaspe Water Reclamation Scheme was the second in the Regional Urban Water Business (RUWB) sector to be executed under the Partnerships Victoria policy.

The objective was to deliver cost-effective, high quality, and innovative wastewater treatment facilities to Echuca and Rochester.

It is the first wastewater treatment project where 100% of the treated wastewater will be re-used resulting in an environmentally sustainable outcome being achieved.

In November 2002, Earth Tech Pty Ltd was contracted by Coliban Water to design, build, finance and operate wastewater facilities for the townships of Rochester and Echuca for a period of 25 years. The facility will return to the State at the end of the contract.

Coliban Water will retain key customer interface functions of billing, accounts and customer complaints. They will also continue to consult and liaise with the broader community in respect of wastewater treatment services in the Echuca and Rochester area.

The facility was officially opened in May 2005.
